Berlin is Reopening!

It has been a long, hard winter. But now there is finally a sense of renewed optimism in the air. The first guests are enjoying their al fresco meals in the sun outside restaurants. In the evening, friends are meeting up in the outdoor areas of queer bars and pubs. Maybe they are already hatching plans for the following day, since the first exhibitions have reopened. The atmosphere in the neighbourhoods? Almost indescribable. The city is tangibly coming alive again. Bit by bit, it will continue to do so in the coming weeks: Berlin is reopening!

As a result, there will soon be more activity on the streets. Several CSD events are planned this year. As early as 26 June, several smaller demonstrations will be taking place in various Berlin neighbourhoods. They will all start and end at Alexanderplatz in Mitte. The Star Demonstration (Sterndemo) will also mark the start of a four-day CSD week, from 26 - 29 June.

CSD e.V., which organises Berlin's largest CSD, has scheduled a street demonstration for 24 July. All participants will be on foot; trucks will not be present this year. The starting point for the demonstration is at Nollendorfplatz in Schöneberg and will start at 12 noon. You can access the latest information about the various CSD events for 2021 on the Siegessäule website.

If everything runs as smoothly as planned, the outdoor season might even be extended this year! Currently, the Queer City Festival (Stadtfest), which usually takes place a week before CSD, has been planned for 2 - 3 October, in the streets in and around Nollendorfplatz in Schöneberg. For many Berliners, this city festival is a highlight of the season, where friends from both near and far meet up.

We have a feeling that this summer is going to be really good. And we can't wait to welcome you back!

Corona update from 4 June 2021

A visit to Berlin becomes possible: From June 11, Berlin hotels may welcome guests again!

Already, cafés, bars and restaurants may open their indoor areas. They may be visited by anyone who has been vaccinated against Corona, who has recovered from a Corona infection in the last six months, or who currently tests negative. The same regulations apply to cinemas, concert halls, and theaters.

In shops and when visiting outdoor areas of cafés, bars, and restaurants, guests are no longer required to show proof of vaccination or a negative test.

Wearing an FFP2 mask is required in many locations.

Dancing in clubs is not allowed for the time being. Saunas are also not yet open for business.
