Great queer fetish shops you should know about

In Berlin, there are many great queer fetish shops catering to all preferences: from sportswear and leather, to rubber and BDSM. Place2be.Berlin writer Jeff Mannes shares his expertise and introduces six shops where you can find what you're looking for.

Beautiful to play with: Rubber outfits made to measure by Sven Appelt Rubber in Schöneberg.

There are many fetish shops, but not all of them offer repairs. At "Sven Appelt Rubber", however, that's no problem. Do you have a hole or a tear in your latex outfit? The repair service will mend everything for you. But above all, "Sven Appelt Rubber" offers outfits for diverse desires: from bondage and fisting, to watersports and puppy play, to skinwear and wrestling, among others. (jm)

Find the missing accessories for the evening here: "Boxer".

Boxer

If you're looking for accessories for the evening, you'll probably find them in the "Boxer" shop. You can recognise it from afar by the big, black dog statue at the entrance. There is a wealth of the usual, sexy, fetish brands on offer. If you're quick on the uptake, you're sure to be able to complete your outfit here - and you're in good company, by the way: "Boxer" even featured in the first German queer TV series, 'All You Need'! Doesn't only stand out at night: the shop of "GEAR" and "Rubaddiction".

GEAR and Rubaddiction

Have you already noticed them? They are the t-shirts that feature a unique term from the fetish scene and a distinctive arrow: for example, ‘Puppy’, ‘Owned’, or ‘Sneaks’, among others, are emblazoned on the front of the T-shirts. They all originate from the GEAR Shop in Schöneberg. Not only can you purchase T-shirts with your favourite kink printed on them, but also lots of fetish clothes and toys. On the upper floor there is a large leather selection, huge dildos showcased behind a large display case, as well as sportswear and sneakers. In the basement, you'll find Rubaddiction's extensive rubber department. (jm)

Other Nature

In a way, "Other Nature" is the flagship of the queer-feminist scene in Berlin. This is because it is an alternative, vegan, and environmentally-friendly sex shop for all genders. The shop sells high-quality, ecologically sound sex products and toys, in contrast to the usual mass-produced merchandise. If you want to see why and how sex and activism have always been intertwined in Berlin, you shouldn’t miss "Other Nature"! (jm)

Special requests? No problem for the "Butcherei Lindinger" in Schöneberg.

Butcherei Lindinger

One of the best-known fetish shops in the gay Regenbogenkiez in Schöneberg is "Butcherei Lindinger". It offers craftsmanship with a passion: the most unusual fetish clothes are made to measure in the in-house studio. The team also welcomes and implements special requests. For example, I find the chain mail fascinating, and it is on permanent display in the show window. The motto of "Butcherei Lindinger" is at all times: "Every body is special and we give your body the perfect covering." (jm)

Blackstyle

No matter how far the way from the fetish bars around Nollendorfplatz may seem - rubber friends are happy to make the journey to the north of Berlin. For in the Prenzlauer Berg district, the "Blackstyle" team satisfies all their wishes. In addition to suits in various shapes, the selection also includes accessories such as shackles, masks and boots. Rubber lovers can shop the wide assortment or have their measurements taken. (red)
